Once in a while you stumble across a bit of latent cinema that deserves more light than it gets. And Deep Dark is such a film. For those that love tongue-in-blooooody-cheek-horror, this little nacient dark hole of evil is for you!
Our dark protagonist is much like us all - during the early stages of our lives. Unsuccessful, lonely, and willing to do anything to get ahead. He is the penultimate "sucky artist." Until a room - once owned by his successful artist uncle - is made available to him. Inside the apartment is a hole in the wall. Behind the wall is an enigma, but as we so discover... what is asked for... the other side of the wall provides... for a price.
Though low budget, we understand a deeper message through viewing. A reclamation of the old 1001 nights in the ancient Arabic - brought into the 21st century mainstream, in this quasi: "look out what you wish for," toddy.
Take the time - when its dark out - to see this little masterpiece, by yourself. I'm sure, that though this run is a standard bleak bloody comedy, the journey will leave you a bit lighter in the gut and your blood a little thicker and colder for the experience. Giggle.
